He's going to be trouble.

Just to let you know what I let myself in for when I appointed myself administrator of our blog I am repeating the communication that I received from Graham when he succumbed and agreed to join in. (Slightly edited). If nothing else, Graham is a brave man, as he has agreed to its publication.

Graham says:

I have accepted the, er, invite and signed up. I have even provided information for my 'profile' although the page's refusal to accept my birthday as 18/05 rather than the ludicrous American 05/18 nearly caused me to log off in a sulk. (The information supplied was however sufficient to enable the site to calculate that Graham was born in the year of the Monkey! Tom)

If/when I think of something which might interest the group I shall contribute. As you are aware, I am not averse to conversation or correspondence, but I have misgivings about blogging in so far as it may involve advertising the minutiae of my daily life to a group, even one composed of acquaintances.[ Why some on-line diarists wish to expose themselves to the global scrutiny of total strangers, I cannot comprehend.]
Does the group really want to know about the things which concern us here on Windmill Hill, that my grand-daughter's first two-syllable spoken word was "Marmite", that my parsnip crop is calamitous but the runner beans have been good and the celeriac is the best ever, that I am considering buying a bargain-price mini-excavator but it is of Chinese make with no British distributor so spares may be a problem, that our new dog is very sweet-natured
but occasionally malodorous [ for reasons that I have been advised not to enlarge upon ] , that my French poetry group will be studying the work of the Flemish writer Emile Verhaeren this week, etc, etc.? Better stick to posting useful websites like the one linked below which maintains that the Great Pyramid is a water-pump and has animated diagrams to prove it.

http://www.thepump.org/art6completeGPpump.html

(You see, after all that, Graham provides us with an absolute gem of information. We will all be rushing to link on to that website. But how did he find it in the first place? Tom).
