Just for the hell of it.

Way back in the fourteenth and fifteenth century artists provided a vital service to their fellow men by depicting the torments of hell that awaited those that fell from the path of righteousness.
I believe in our modern times the BBC has taken over this task. You have only to tune in to their programmes on Saturday afternoons to have a foretaste of what is to come. An endless succession of talking heads, mostly speaking in barely understandable Scottish or French accents, talk about football for what seems an eternity. Sometimes their place is taken by a young millionaire player mumbling away just as incoherently.
So this is what hell will really be like and we are grateful to the BBC for giving us a preview. Of course you won't actually see any football. That could make hell just that little more tolerable. No. It will be talk, talk, talk for ever and ever.
D'ja now wad I mean?

Tom
