Two ways to save weblog messages
This is for the attention of Peter, Tom and anyone else who may wish to save any, some or all the messages posted to the Computer Group weblog.
[ I think I may don the mantle of a reactionary, fuddy-duddy, nit-picking pedant * and refuse to employ that distressingly infelicitous abbreviation 'blog'.]
To save the all the messages so far posted, make sure the arrow cursor is within the weblog page and press Ctrl and A to highlight everything. Press Ctrl and C to copy it to the clipboard.
OR
To save one or more messages, move the arrow cursor to the beginning of the message so that it changes to the insertion cursor [ looks like I ]. Then hold down the left mouse button and drag down through the message(s) until you have selected all that you want. Release the mouse button, right-click and, from the context menu which appears, click 'Copy'.
Now open a new blank document in your word-processor [ Word or whatever ].
With the cursor within the document page, EITHER right-click then click 'Paste'
OR press Ctrl and V. The copied text will appear in the new document - the formatting may be a bit dodgy and you will lose any graphics from the weblog page, but the text can be edited, saved printed, etc.
If you want to save the whole weblog exactly as it appears in your browser [ Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.] ignore all the above and instead click on 'File' then 'Save as' to save it as a .html file which will re-open in your browser just like the original, but will not be editable and perhaps not printable.
* There is no prize for the first, or any other, person who comments,
" How will we notice the difference ?"
