Good-bye Joe

Joe Worgan's funeral took place today at Worle Crematorium. It attracted one of the largest numbers of mourners I have seen at the Crematorium, demonstrating Joe's many interests and many friends. There was standing room only for many of us.

The Reverend Barry Irons conducted the service, and we heard from him a lot about Joe's life that he never talked about, including his distinguished war service.

The funeral took place on the day of our usual computer meeting. Members stood in a silent tribute to Joe. It was agreed that rather than sending a wreath a collection would be made so that a donation could be made to a suitable charity. This was done and the money raised was handed to Mr John Worgan, Joe's brother, who expressed his thanks and said it would be added to quite substantial sums already donated and distributed to Joe's favourite causes. Money had already been given to the tsunami disaster appeal.

The computer group meeting closed early to enable members to attend the funeral.
