Elementary, my dear Watson.

We are most fortunate to have sitting in our midst on Friday mornings the distinguished editor of the U3A newsletter. He brings a professional touch to its production. He has an eagle eye and when I had some small involvement with it he never failed to notice and correct all the errors I made.

I wonder if he has ever tried to use the spellchecker that comes with Blogger? (Silly me, why would he ever need to?) If he ever did, and he used the word “blog” in any of his postings, he would find it is a word that Blogger’s dictionary does not recognise – it has been offering “bloc” as an alternative.

I have told Blogger to learn “blog”, but don’t you think it should have known it already? It hasn’t got a clue about “Blogger” either
